We’re thrilled to announce that Coram has raised $13.8 million in Series A funding, led by Marcus Ryu from Battery Ventures. This milestone brings our total funding to $30 million.
At Coram, we’re modernizing physical security for businesses. Starting with video security as our first application, we’ve supercharged it with Generative AI. While many businesses have security cameras, they are often hindered by outdated systems that are not cloud-based, lack proactive alert features, and require scrubbing through hours of footage for investigations.
Today, thousands of cameras across the U.S. leverage our generative AI models to enhance safety and improve operational efficiency. For example, schools can receive alerts when a person with a firearm is detected, while industrial settings can be notified of slip-and-fall incidents, and more. Additionally, we save our customers hundreds of hours during investigations by enabling them to find video footage in seconds using our natural language search interface, which indexes every video frame using advanced large-vision and language models.
We are at an inflection point with AI, where every camera can become as intelligent as a human. This capability offers businesses the opportunity to have hundreds of virtual employees in the form of cameras, driving economic growth while enhancing safety. Our cloud-based video surveillance platform is also unique in its ability to integrate seamlessly with any IP camera, requiring minimal infrastructure investment. This allows organizations of all sizes to access state-of-the-art security without needing to overhaul their existing systems. We have built one comprehensive video platform that supports investigations, live monitoring, and safety-critical alerts like firearm detection and escalation.
Our mission is to make every business safer and more efficient, and it goes beyond video security. We aim to build a robust, multi-product IoT platform that addresses the needs of IT and physical security teams across industries, creating safer and smarter environments. This is an exciting time to build such solutions, as generative AI is set to penetrate every IoT device in the coming years, with video being the most obvious starting point. In the year ahead, we will continue to develop more video AI features that enable customers to derive greater value from their security cameras. Simultaneously, we will launch new IoT products designed for the daily use of IT and security teams, further enhancing their capabilities and efficiency.
We’re hiring across multiple roles in both California and London, UK. Please check out our Careers page.
This funding marks an exciting step in our journey. We extend our gratitude to our investors, customers, and team for making this possible. Together, we’re just getting started.
